Viking Boat Adventures, Inc. is introducing and sponsoring the
“Coeur d’Alene Viking Boat Races”.
We invite you to be part of an exciting new community
activity for Coeur d’Alene,
creating public service, expanding tourism and increasing support for our youth. What’s more, it is family fun, healthy and
not harmful to our lake community’s environment.
Viking Boat Races are a community team
opportunity, “the chance to make a difference“. I’m sure everyone will agree that rowing sports are the kind
of opportunity that everyone will want to endorse whether you are sponsoring,
rowing or a spectator enjoying the social aspects on the beach.
The races provide individuals, businesses, and organizations
an opportunity to enjoy a great day at the lake, while making a valuable
contribution to the youth of our community. We encourage everyone to challenge their
group, business or organization to start a team. Your participation supports both the Coeur
d'Alene and Post Falls Rowing Clubs. These organizations teach our youth the value
and benefits of good teamwork, required for success.
Although the focus on race days will be the race
competition, the races provide family fun and a variety of activities for
members of all ages in the community. We
invite everyone to join us in the fun at the beach, in the park and on the
lake, on race days, to enjoy cultural activities and the “Church Boat”
races. Also see the web site at www.coeurdalenevikingboatraces.org
View the video “Church Boats in Action”, and read about the
350 year history of this racing sport.
There are lots of boat pictures in our Gallery under “Sulkavan
Suursoudut”. These events are suitable
and enjoyable for teams of all ages, composition and skill levels. This being
the first season, many of the participants never picked up an oar before
beginning the pre-event training sessions.
Let us show you how Viking Boat Races can add new dimension
to the tourism season, increase traffic to your business location and bring the
profit to your bottom line.
Join us in the teamwork and the competition.
